Firemen are emergency staff of your prison which are used to extinguish any fires that may break out in your prison.

 Firefighters can be summoned via the Emergencies tab at the bottom of the screen. You can call a maximum of 2 fire engines at any given time. Each fire engine carries 4 firefighters. They will remain on the map until dismissed.

Firefighters vulnerable to Prisoners. They should not be called in while a riot is transpiring as an area that they are in may be retaken by rioters. Call them in once all prisoners have returned to their normal routines, or once they are locked up.

Operation

Firemen can be moved around the prison by selecting them and then right clicking where you want them to go. You can select them by clicking on the blue box with a fire icon inside on the right hand side of the screen, when they are present in your prison. You can also click on each fireman individually adjacent to the fire icon. 

Firemen will automatically attempt to put out any fires near them, however, you can direct the spray by pressing and holding down H aswell as using the mouse to indicate where the water should be aimed at.

To dismiss the firemen, click on the red circle with a X inside, located to the top right of the blue box with a fire icon inside. Once dismissed, they willl return to their firetruck and leave the map via the road.

Air Firefighter

Air Firefighters can be called in from the emergencies menu if Island Bound DLC is installed. They come in by a Fire Helicopter, look and work exactly the same way as normal firemen. Air firemen leave the helicopter upon landing and plug-in their hoses to the helipad which provides water source.

• You can call a maximum of 3 squads of air firemen (if 3 free helipads are available).
• One squad consists of 4 firemen.
• Calling in one air firemen squad costs $2,000.
• The helicopter they arrive on can be selected to go and help fight the fires. When this happens, it will take off and head to the nearest fire and start spraying it with water for a short time before returning to the helipad.
