Materials are functional and also decorative textures that you can install in certain areas of your prison, whether indoors or outdoors. They contribute massively to the structure and formatting of your facility. The entire materials overview can be found in the blue toolbar. All the Materials available in game can be split into: walls and floorings.

Construction and demolish[]

  • Walls and floors must be built by workmens.
  • To remove walls, use the "Demolish Walls" tool in the materials menu
  • To remove fundaments or entire buildings, use the "Bulldoze" tool in the materials menu.
  • To remove Flooring, replace them another flooring under floors or landscaping in the materials menu.
  • To remove everything inside a building: select the "Clean Indoor Area" tool in the materials menu and select the area you want to clear. All indoor walls, objects, floors and room assignments will be removed, with the Foundation and Utilities being kept.

Walls[]

Walls are used to secure rooms perimeters and enclose rooms in your prison.

While some only differ in aesthetics, other have additional features such as fence and barred walls in which guards can see through. Guards can also use shoot the taser through barred walls. Perimeter walls on the other hand slows down digging of tunnels, but prevent utilities from being built underneath.

Prisoners and staff cannot usually pass through walls, however, workers may occasionally travel through walls when building near or under them to prevent getting stuck.
